So I've started shooting a rifle for fun.

Wondering where are the long ranges in Indiana. I'm in Lafayette.

I have access to a 100 yard range, and there's a private range with 300 yards (wildcat valley) but a little troublesome to join.

Any 600 yards to 1000 yard ranges around? Any national forests I can go to shoot at those ranges?

Nestled in rural Indiana is a 25 yard to 1000 yard private shooting range.

Young's Longshot Range is currently the only
1000 yard shooting range in the state of Indiana. The range features many outdoor firing stations along with a heated building with drop down windows for winter shooting. If you are a prone shooting enthusiast, you will enjoy the 16' deck, as well.

Many types of arms can be used at this facility including: all standard center-fire pistols, rifles of pistol caliber, muzzleloaders, shotgun slugs, and rimfire calibur guns, all standard center-fire rifles and pistols chambered for rifle cartridges up to and including the .460 Weatherby Magnum class cartridge.

Much closer than the 1000 yard range. Anybody know the hours and membership details? Their website is mostly archery stuff.

Glen doesn't have memberships yet. Range time is usually $10 per hour. Take the ATV if you have it, walks to the 700 are long/
