Sam: Because they use guns!

Me: Uh... I know some cops and many times they only get to use one once in a great while. In fact some of them can't shoot for... um, shoot bad.

Sam: Oh. <sniffle>

Me: Well if you like guns and want to blow stuff up, um... become a Marine. Ya. If you're good at it, you get more gun then you know what to do with!

Sam: OK! <runs off>

<3 days later>

Mommy: Sam is going around telling everyone he's going to be a Marine. Do you know anything about that?!?

Me: Nope.

Although I understand the sentiment, I know how my father now regrets me going down the path I did. Just like my father, I don't think I could take it if my son does what I do. It is alright for me to risk my life, but I don't want my son doing it.
