Weaver V-3

I'm looking at a 1-3 (or 1-4) scope.
How do the Weaver scopes rate these days? Anybody out there with a Weaver Classic V-3 on a 308?

I have a Weaver V24 and it broke after 100 rounds in a 10/22. I would go with a Leupold next time. They did fix it but it took 2 months.
