hi guys! i bought the slide and barrel from one of our good friends here, an armscor commander slide (in white, no markings of anything) and a commander bull barrel. i bought it for my issued colt mk4 series 80, use its receiver to make a 2-in-1 gun. since i always carry my service fa in plain clothes, it might be a better carry than the standard 5" barrel. yet i'm having second thought of making it to another gun, with an armscor hi-cap frame. well any suggestions and donations as well of your used/old parts?

baka manibago ka sa recoil nyan pare, lalo na kung sanay kana sa standard size gun. for me bili kana lang ng hi-cap frame for ur commander slide.:hugs:

ttpower, pre it's a 4.25" barrel. bought it at 7.5k, minus discount.

bertud, my very first personal gun was a colt officer, way back in 1992, the recoil was manageable. this would be a carry and not for compete, so recoil is less an issue. hi-cap frame, i'm still having second thoughts, pero mas malaki magastos mo pag assemble, bili na lang buo instead.

pards, thanks. wala talaga ako galawin sa frame. the frame will remain as it is, kasi pag pinagalaw ko yun dust cover liliit sa standard slide ko. slide and barrel lang pagalaw ko to fit into the receiver. purpose ng project ko, to carry the commander in plain clothes and the standard when i'm in uniform. kaya armscor kinuha ko, idol kita when it comes to performance of armscor. subok na subok mo armscor!

Mauubos muna pera mo sa bala bago masisira yan as long as tama yung fitting in the first place. ;)

yup! i 100% agree with you! pa fit ko yan kay col. bayang, pang carry naman so medyo di ako uubos ng pera sa bala (wala din akong perang uubusin), eh di hindi sya masisira!

Bro saki, advisable and looks good if your standard frame has no magwell. Btw, i got the RIA officer slide offered by romram the other day. It will be fitted to my SAM standard frame with no magwell...bumagay pre. Andun na kay col. bayang for fitting and some aesthetic enhancement..hehe. Will post the pics later once it is done probably this saturday..:)

nice project you've got there too. that's a good idea, i just need another mainspring housing. my last steel mainspring housing installed already to my para, it's still with col. bayang being installed with magwell.

when i got it from shooters factory, kinalikut ko kaagad at tiningnan ang loob ng slide tsaka frame.

Not for anything else but I still prefer the Armscor slide sinc there is not much difference in the price versus the Shooters.

IMO, steel quality and specs wise, SAM has already passed the test. It's completely 1911 parts compatible, some are already drop-in (mine, slide stop, firing pin, barrel, etc.) no need for gunsmithing. For steel grade, both armscor and sam claimed to have used 4140 steel.

Im willing to bet my SAM... (not my glock, of course! hehe..joke)

Kiddingly aside, pareho lang local 1911 natin pre. Mas pulido lang pagkagawa ng armscor..thus little bit higher than sam price-wise..:)

Precisely the reason why I'm more inclined to Armscor.

guys follow-up question... which is better for a base gun norinco or armscor? and why? if ever internals lng ang palitan ko :)

btw i'm not trying to start a debate here.... honest question lng talaga coz i'm planning to get a 1911a1 this coming gunshow :)

Valor1

TTPower,

The Norinco is known for the tenacity of the steel. If you intend to replace only the internals then the Norinco gets the vote. If you want it out of the box, then you go for the Armscor.

pero malay mo, i'll became an expert also in Armscor kasi meron na sila store sa Cebu tsaka meron na sila connection sa Kamagong Guns Club.(sponsor, reloader at iba pa. )
at meron pa napabalita na soon to open "daw" Armscor shooting range in Cebu.
i hope it will be in the vicinty of Kamagong Gun Club range.
or better in the south area, specially in the South Reclaimation Project area(SRP) para walking distance lang sa bahay ko or max 10 mins drive away.

Pwede if you use the conventional commander frame. IMO, commander and government models use identical frames. Officer lang ang na-iba. However, the armscor version of commander (MS) is not in accordance with the conventional commander dimension. The barrel is 4.0" instead of the normal 4.25" and so the dustcover is also shortened which makes the government slide's recoil spring exposed if fitted..

SAM and Norc commander followed the coventional dimension..:)

mtho
06-18-2007, 09:57
sa norc didin pwede, it has a 4.25 barrel but the dustcover is shortened a bit
