Can anyone tell me what advantage the "operator" sights from ameriglo give over their classic sights?!? What benefit is it to not have the white outlines around the rear sight?
Also, what are your opinions on green front and yellow rear....for either the classic or operator?!?
Thanks

I personally think it's preference. What may work for me may not work for you. I like the Operators due to the fact the rear is subdued. It doesn't stick out like the front. I like the front standing out so it can help me focus on the front sight.

I like orange or yellow rears as they tend to be less bright than the green front, making the front sight a bit more noticable.

I have the Ameriglo classics on my G36. They are nice, but I prefer the Meprolights I have on my G19 & G23. The Meprolights have a slightly larger "dot" which is clearer IMO. Nothing wrong with the Ameriglo classics though, they are good sights.

The purpose is to more quickly draw your eye to the front sight. Personally, I like the Operators much more than the Classics. But if you have good vision, I am sure the difference isn't that noticeable, and you can save a few bucks by getting the Classics.
Dont the classics have a .140 width front while the operators have .125? I think Meps are .165

Yes, Operators have very thin front post.

I like the thin front post on the operators. My G19 has the green/green and my new 26 is wearing the green/yellow. The green front really stands out against the yellow rears.
The thin front makes a difference to me because it doesn't block out the entire target. I like being able to see between the rear notch and the front post.
I just replaced my original green/green Glock Trijicons with green/yellow operators and am very impressed with the ability to quickly differentiate the front from the rear. How much better/quicker I'll find out soon, but it's definitely noticeable.

FWIW, on my carry weapon I run the Ameriglo Classics with the 112T front (same as comes in the "Operator" set). I find the more narrow front is an asset when doing range work and yet, has the same night-sight picture during darkness. Not a "target" width front by any means but for my purposes, the near perfect combination for quick acquistion yet, more precise than most tritium sights.
