View Full Version : Front sight removal
I am getting my ameriglo operators later today along with a rear sight pusher. Does anyone have a tutorial (preferably with pictures) of removing the stock plastic front sight without specialized tools?
I kow I can punch or yank the front sight out with plyers, but I dont want to damage it so that it could be reused in the future if need be.

The under side of the sight is split and a small pin is inserted. Remove the pin pinch the sides together and remove.

Thank you both. Thanks especially for the videos Randy, if a picture is worth a thousand words a video is probably worth a million.
You'll like the Operators.....I put a set on my G36 last week :)

Thanks again for the help all, I got the operators in and they are great. Both the yellow and green tubes are plenty bright and can even be seen in dim areas in doors.
It's going to take some range time to get used to the wider notch and thinner blade though, as I learned to shoot with the stock sights. I was able to justify the cost as these sights improve the g19 both as a nightstand gun and for target work, and am pleased in both respects.
...the only problem is that when I get my g26 I will have to drop another $90 :)
