Vang Comp

Hello all,

I just thought I should share my great experience with Vang Comp. I called VC on Monday to order simply a large head safety. At Mr Vang's recommendation I also added a stainless follower to my order.


When I called Mr Vang himself answered the phone. He was in the process of letting Tom (or is it Tom Tom?) outside to "guard the parking lot". Tom is his Rhodesian ridgeback. Anyway, I was happy to chat it up with Mr Vang for nearly 40 minutes. It was a pleasure, he was a great guy, very humble and also a "great big dork". His words not mine..

Well, after some very interesting and enlightening conversations about the firearms industry and some of his friends, I was left pretty impressed with Mr Vang's modesty. He was very, very down to earth for someone in his position. I would not hesitate to send business his way ever!


Sooo, today the brown santa shows up at my door with my stuff. Four days later, not too bad from AZ. I tore open my package and much to my surpise Mr Vang saw fit to include a VCS tactical shotguns baseball hat at no charge! Hell yeah!!

Mr Vang has earned himself a lifelong customer with that one simple gesture.

I will be sending my 870 MM for a visit to his shop soon

I can't recommend Vang Comp any higher. Fantastic customer service and one hell of a nice guy.


PS. He's going to be making his own side saddles and a few other nifty goodies soon.

When I discovered that the tactical green mag follower was binding in my Mossberg that he installed, I asked him if he could turn one down for me that would slide more freely. He sent me several, so I could also put one in my 590 as well. I also got a bunch of business cards, and I hand them out when I let people shoot my VCS 500.

Hans is a really decent guy who answers all sorts of questions. He is the only "aftermarket" gent the Remington Factory recommends for their line.

That speaks volumes.

His barrel work is worth the money, especially if you want a "work" shotgun. I have been very happy with all his products.

I have known Hans personally for about 12 years. I met him when I was a LEO in Anchorage, Alaska. He came to Anchorage Police Department to do some MAJOR work on the department guns. Hans is a regular guy, who will always have my vote when it comes to shotguns. I have several Vang Comp modifications to my Rem 870.If I ever get around to building that tactical 11-87. it will be with alot of Han's work. I have also visited his new shop in AZ. Great guy, great shop, great prices.

Happy customers are whay he looks for and has done alot more than he needs to to keep us happy!!

I have always admired the groups folks got from VangComp'd guns.

However, firing the new Federal Flite-Control wad bucksot ammo has taken away some of my desire to get my shotguns Vang'd. The groups this 00 load produces in a regular IC choked guns are impressively small.

If you have always wanted a Vang but can't afford the cost, try the Flite Control wad ammo.

Of course, it would STILL be interesting to see what Flite Control 00 buck would do out of a VANG barrel...

Hans moved to Arizona? Another gun guy making the flight.

The only issue I had with the VC 870 was that firing slugs just didn't give me the accuracy I hoped for. Now, 00 buck is an awsome tight pattern but not slugs.

Speaking of the 11-87, I need to send mine to hime for some work.

Bud meet him while at GunSite. Just happened to have his 870 with him and I must say I am impressed. The SG now feels like a 10/22. I just barely held the SG to my shoulder one handed and it did not move me at all and I feel a 10/22 cycle more than the felt recoil.

Grouped 00B at 25 in a 8"h x 6"w pattern with rem reduced recoil
