View Full Version : lone wolf barrels, are they good? ARSENAL54 06-10-2007, 16:58 was thinking about about getting one of these barrels till i saw the price, they seem kind of cheap compared to jarvis . stevo1207 06-10-2007, 19:47 llathem 06-10-2007, 21:20 Yep they're good barrels. I have a half a dozen of them. I have them in 9, .357 Sig, .40, and 10mm. I have them in stock lengths and extended 2 port. I prefer them to OEM barrels. Joe D 06-11-2007, 05:31 Price has nothing to do with quality. The Jarvis, KKM and Bar-Sto barrels are way over priced. I suspect their prices will start to fall now that LWD is really bitting into their sales. The LWD barrels are just as accurate and finished just as nicely as any aftermarket barrel. They have the best feed ramp design of any aftermarket barrel. ARSENAL54 06-11-2007, 06:28 not worried about accuracy nearly as much as reliability, will they chew everything right out of the box. Joe D 06-11-2007, 16:04 Mine do. llathem 06-11-2007, 16:31 Originally posted by ARSENAL54 they seem kind of cheap compared to jarvis . Price wise they are less expensive, but cheap they are not. Mine digest everything I've shot in them 100%. ARSENAL54 06-11-2007, 21:18 great , looks like im going to pick one up. SDGlock23 06-11-2007, 22:59 Gave my 6" Lone wolf barrel a good workout at the range today, no problems whatsoever. Awesome barrel at an unbeatable price. llathem 06-12-2007, 23:21 Originally posted by ARSENAL54 great , looks like im going to pick one up. It's an earned right. Fact is, it was good advice.. GT has a great search function, I too recommend its use. unlearned69 06-15-2007, 07:06 I'm not saying that anybody has the right to bust chops, but if anybody is going to do it. . . The OP had been here for one day at the time. If you want to give advice or recommend the search function, ytelling somone to delete a thread and throwing in the rolls eyes is not a great way. Give an answer, alert them to the search function (may not know it is there, and welcome them. Don't jump their case,; doesn't really make one feel welcome. Edited to add: I don't have an LWD barrel, but have shot a couple. They seem to be quite accurate. I plan on getting one for my G34 for lead shooting. llathem 06-15-2007, 07:21 Originally posted by kraigster414 CAUTION! You have entered an internet gun forum. Pssssssssssssssssssssssssst !!!!! rideage 06-15-2007, 14:07 very new here..... with a new g19 and a brand new LWD barrel... put 100 lead reloads threw it yesterday, not a single problem, other than it seems to shoot high.. but I am not getting my panties in a bunch till I have more trigger time, it could be me. edit... I forgot to say I like the barrel and its top notch arnold ziffle 06-15-2007, 18:02 nothing new has been posted in the last year so nobody should post and we should only use the search function. that would be exciting. for all you keyboard warriors that get pissy and say use the search consider yourself kicked in the nads. EddieMossberg 06-15-2007, 19:33 http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/4228/searchwz1.gif (http://imageshack.us) Jusy kidding, I love my 2 LWD barrels. LOL. You're ok buddy. Don't worry. m4arc 06-16-2007, 09:00 I purchased a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel for my G32 and I'm completely amazed at the accuracy of the LW barrel. Dare I say it's more accurate than a standard Glock barrel? It seems that way... llathem 06-16-2007, 09:50 Originally posted by kraigster414 Don't be a troublemaker! I just can't help myself... kraigster414 06-16-2007, 10:03 Originally posted by llathem I just can't help myself... I went to high school with a Laus Deo from Far Rockaway. Me, the search function can be tedious if you just want a simple repsonse. Back to LW bbl., bought one for my G17 for lead bullet shooting. It is a bit tighter than the stock bbl. & neede a few rounds to break-in. very accurate w/ lead, plated or jacketed. BTW, BarSto bbls. are not over priced. There is just more handwork in finishing. They are exc. bbls., I have them in several pistols. They usually require hand fitting due to tighter tolerances. kraigster414 06-16-2007, 13:46 Originally posted by fredj338 I've never figurd out why someone takes the time to post a reply like this. if you don't like the thread, don't bother, otherwise let guys ask wahtever questions they want. I have owned BarSto barrels and I am particularly proud of the one in my Series 70 Colt 1911 that has been customized to the max and is a tack driver to this day. Purchased back in the '80s, it was money well spent and my 'Smith did a heckuva job fitting it. In the Glock however which was never intended to be a target gun but primarily a defensive weapon, it's very hard for me to justify installing a $$ BarSto barrel. I base that on the fact that I HAVE installed a BarSto and a Jarvis (both fitted by a professional gunsmith) in two Glocks over the years. IMHO, they provided no significant improvement in accuracy or reliabiity over my Lone Wolf barrels that cost half as much and were completely drop-in. Having said that, I understand the desire to have the very best - whether perceived or real. For the same reason that I light my cigars with a Dunhill lighter when a simple Bic will do, I understand where you're coming from. :) It's all good. Don't expect to see any yaks though. As for the Coup De Ville, I'd ask his brother Vinny. The trunk in a Coupe has a whole different configuration. llathem 06-17-2007, 21:57 Originally posted by kraigster414 Don't expect to see any yaks though. Not a very large ______, I'd say it's a medium. BTW, I have a cousin Vinny. No relation. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
