I thought the breacher end was only available in the pump model but apparently they do have one in a semi-auto version...my local shop had one for $479.00...I must admit...It looked pretty sweet !!

View Full Version : Anyone seen or have the new Mossberg semi-auto tactical breacher ?? vyper005 06-10-2007, 19:25 I thought the breacher end was only available in the pump model but apparently they do have one in a semi-auto version...my local shop had one for $479.00...I must admit...It looked pretty sweet !! Bullman 06-14-2007, 17:46 Mossberg is making a tactical semi auto that isn't a turkey gun? I could be interested. vyper005 06-15-2007, 20:20 My local shop said the 930 with the breacher end is a Elliott Bro's (??-I'm not quite sure of the name) exclusive...Anyway...I put a deposit on one...Here's a pic of the regular tactical 930... http://personalsecurityzone.com/images/MS85320lg.jpg MOSSBERG 930 HOME SECURITY SHOTGUN 12/18.5/3 AUTO MBL/SYN Manufacturer Mossberg Model 930 Action Semi-automatic Caliber 12 Gauge 3" Barrel Length 18.5" Finish/Color Matte Blue Grips/Stock Synthetic Type of Barrel Cylinder Chamber 3" Capacity 5 Rounds Sights Bead Here is the breacher end... http://nas4.atlanta.gbhinc.com/GB/073069000/73069775/pix695252500.jpg Bullman 06-15-2007, 20:32 Now I am interested:banana: Bullman 06-15-2007, 21:14 I have been looking on Mossberg's site, and on Ellett brothers and I am unable to find such a device. I guess I have to download EB's pdf catalog to see it. EddieMossberg 06-22-2007, 20:30 Hmmm... I'm definately interested in one without the breacher. It looks as though it would be difficult to affix a heat shield to it though. Hmmmm... Bullman 06-23-2007, 00:24 I wonder if a mag extension could be had, or if it is like the 500?, If it is set up like the 590 it would be possible, if there was an extension made that would fit. 619Glock3r 06-23-2007, 03:14 There was one on the rack at American Shooting Center in San Diego... vyper005 06-23-2007, 08:12 I just picked it up this week...Havent even shot it yet... http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j95/vyper005/IMG_0002_2.gif and... http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j95/vyper005/IMG_0003.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j95/vyper005/IMG_0007_2.jpg EddieMossberg 06-25-2007, 23:21 I'm just guessing, but I don't see the barrel stabilizer like the 500's and it looks as though if you had one of these without the breacher, you could put a tube on it for eight round capability. If so, I'm getting one! I'd have to put my TLR-2 on there somewhere and then it would be good to go!:hearts: I'm still trying to daydream up a heat shield rig, but I've succeeded before with my old pump Mossberg breacher. It just took a rawhide mallot and some heat! Love my 590 and 500's but that looks sweet! PS. Vyper, do you know if that will accept most model 500 parts? I'd like to pistol grip one of those. triggerjerk 06-26-2007, 13:56 How much do they run? Have they resurrected the old jungle gun? vyper005 06-27-2007, 04:35 I paid $469.00 for mine...It holds 4 in the tube + 1 in the chamber... I went to the range this past Sunday and blasted 19 rounds...a nice mixture of slugs and buckshot in 2 3/4" & 3"...no problems whatsoever and the recoil seemed alot less then my old Rem 870 pump...probably due the semi action...I should have tried the remington reduced recoil loads just to see if they function as well...maybe next week... As far as I know...The normal tac-star side saddles and ext tubes do not work on the 930 because the pin spacing is different... They do have a Mossberg Breacher in a pistol grip but its a pump :) EddieMossberg 06-27-2007, 21:52 Yeah, I have a pistol grip breacher. Glad to hear that thing functions so well! That is a potent long arm for sure! vyper005 07-01-2007, 12:57 Update:7/1/07 Just to let you guys know I shot a box of (25) 2 3/4" Remington Reduced Recoil Buckshot loads...15 worked fine but 10 had failures to extract...I guess the Remington's just dont have the power to cycle the action properly...I would never trust them in a semi-auto shotgun...A pump would be fine... After the Remington loads I shot a box of 1 3/8oz 3" Brenneke Black Magic magnum slugs...All I can say is...Holy Crap !! They are by far the most powerful thing I have ever shot even with the semi-auto action of the gun soaking up some of the recoil...No lie...It was like a full size cannon going off !! The box says they produce a little over 3000lbs of muzzle energy...As expected...no problems with the gun cycling with those powerhouse loads :) Oh well...I guess I'll stick with what works... EddieMossberg 07-01-2007, 14:44 Thanks for the info, I'm probably going to get one of these. Glockness Mnstr 07-02-2007, 22:44 Is this a new gun? When did they start making these? Now I want to trade in my 500. WhiteCoyote 12-02-2007, 04:35 www.mossberg.com/images/Mossberg_Guns/930/New/54125.jpg Eagle1 12-27-2007, 15:52 This is the one I have and I like it alot.
