View Full Version : magwell for G23
Anyone know of a magwell for a glock 23? Our dept. requires that we carry a G23. The problem is for us big guys (6'6" 260lbs) when I change mags, I remove/clamp a section of my palm. I was thinking that a Magwell may help some of us. I do need to be able to use the G23 stock mags and be able to pull them during malfunctions. Any help?

All mag wells compromise magazine removal during jam clearance. First, they fill in the hole at the back of the grip that was put there for your thumb to grasp the ridge on the rear of the mag tube while ripping out a stuck magazine. (Plugs do this as well.) Then, the extended sides prevent you from grasping the baseplate as well. Gen 2 G23 frames had a second notch at the front of the grip to allow maximum gripping area, but this was closed up on the later finger groove frames.
There is a part that perhaps might work for you - the Seattle Slug: I use one on my G17L competition gun. They are available in aluminum if you do not want the weight of the brass type.
