Remington R3 recoild pad

My new Remington 870 police came with the new Remington R3 recoil pad, and it works great. I shot over 30 rounds of rifle slugs and did not feel a thing, except plenty of fun.

Walmart sells a prefit limbsaver for the Remington 870.
Im thinking thats the same one Remington is putting on their 870s.
I might buy the walmart version and try it on my 870 synthetic stock.

The Remington R3 pad that is sold seperately at sporting goods stores is not exactly the same one the comes with the 870 police. I think the 870 police uses a speedfeed stock so the limbsaver pads are similar but not interchangeable.

The limbsaver / R3s are the first recoil pads I've used that are both soft enough to actually work, and also firm enough at the same time to be able to retain their shape.

A recoil pad may seem like old hat, but the R3 is a significant improvement in gun technology.

I will be fitting similar limbsaver pads to hard-kicking guns like my P-14 Enfield converted to .416 Rigby.
