Ward's Western Field .22lr

I need to find the manufacturer of this old WARD'S WESTERN FIELD .22LR RIFLE MODEL 87-S887-TA so I can get a spring located at the chamber. J.C. HIGGINS AND HIGH STANDARD were my first and 2nd guess, but have not panned out. Help? Thanks, Ken

My old Gun Parts Corp cross-reference chart doesn't list THAT number, but it DOES show a SB87TA; any chance that the middle "8" in your model is actually a letter "B"?

If so, it is a variation of the Stevens M87. Semi-auto, tubular magazine, little vents in the side(s) of the receiver, right?
