Howdy all!
Recently, I've made the decision to join a Volunteer First Aid Squad.
I've made this decision based on several factors:
I've got some great EMT-B and EMT-P friends who have been helpful in answering my questions, and the ride-alongs were enjoyable and informative!
I'm a night owl, so I've got no problems working an all night shift once a week.
By day I'm a LAN Specialist at a For-Profit University in New Jersey, with aspirations to move to Kentucky once I get my degree. Now, not to offend anybody, but the area of Kentucky I want to move to is mostly farms and woods, and I from my last vacation, I don't recall any Domains that need Administration or Wireless Access Points in need of a Security Audit. However, people do get hurt everywhere. It's universal. It's my form of guaranteed employment.
Last, and certainly not least, I hail from the Survival & Preparedness forum. What better way to learn how to take care of myself and others by volunteering to help and take care of complete strangers, all while receiving free training and support of likeminded individuals.
Tomorrow, I take the first half of a two part First Aid certification course, and hopefully before the end of the month I can find and schedule a CPR course, as without both those certifications, I get to look at the ambulances, and that's about it, lol.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to everyone. Back to lurking I go! :wavey:
