Anybody have 10 inch barrels for their DE .50AE or .44mag?

I always wondered how different they felt to shoot, etc.

.....have shot several. Have put a buddies 10" bbl on my .44mag DE. Also have shot another .44 w/ a 10'' bbl. Plus a .50 A&E and an older .357 mag,all w/ the longer bbls.

Seemed to me to be more of a push, less felt recoil, and not as much muzzle rise. Probably all due the the extra weight out front.

You will get another 30-50 fps outta any given load also.

Make sure that you check out your state laws re. hunting with pistol and bbl lengths. In Maine if you hunted with a bbl over 6",you were only allowed to have 5 shots in the mag("permanantly altered").

All in all,I consider all cals. of the DE a *****cat to shoot, but the extra 4" of bbl makes it even more "user friendly".

Neat. It's really low on my want list, but something I eventually want to get.

Only limits in TX are on "game animals" (deer, etc.) where you can't use rimfire, full-auto, or suppresors and that's about the limit. Everything else (hogs, etc.) are anything goes more or less. No mag limit on anything.

.....on my wish list is the rather rare .440 CorBon(.50A&E necked down to take the .429" bullets).

That has my "interest".

Yeah that would indeed be sweet. I had a hankering for one a while back, but they stopped making 'em.

Guess if you find one, you better buy it while you can.
