I did some reading and found out, Bob the last owner of ASA is a real asshat.

I have had one for a while now. I may have the only ASA/colt combo ever put together. It is an american spirit arms lower everything else is from colt. When i bought it i knew nothing about ARs except my buddy just paid $850 for one, and this one was stickered $500. I got it at a gunshow from a guy with a table full of nice bolt actions, he said his buddy built it and never really shot it. He didnt seem to know much about it and when i paid him for it he pulled 5 extra mags out from under the table and told me "they ain't no good to me". Shot the heck out of it and never had one lick of trouble.

The former owner made a real bad name for the company. The new guys seem to be trying real hard to change the image. Some people have been talking recently about some good dealings with the new owners. I have an ASA rifle from back when the other guy owned it and have never had a problem with it.
