The other day, I put on a multi-weapons course for some people. A fellow Fed. showed up with a Wilson Combat 870 with a 14" barrel and a Knoxx Industries Compstock. The Compstock has some sort of spring stabilizer inside the synthetic butt stock that, according to marketing, greatly reduces felt recoil. I’d seen them advertized and sort of considered them as just another gimmick. After shooting with one, I was very impressed. They do an excellent job of reducing recoil. Even with the 14 inch barrel, that was probably the lightest recoiling 12 gage I’ve ever shot.
I’m not affiliated with Knoxx, I’m just relating a positive experience I had with a piece of equipment.
