View Full Version : What modification did you make to your 36? zeke013 07-01-2007, 11:59 Anyone done a mod to their 36 they would defintiely repeat in another purchase? Or do you all carry stock? rd4man 07-01-2007, 13:01 Me all stock w/ trijicons. I am happy. marcoh 07-01-2007, 16:36 Bone stock, which is unusual for me because up to now I've always put Meps on my pistols. Speaking of sights, my G36 has steel sights. Do they all come that way? mvician 07-01-2007, 19:32 Ameriglo "Operators" green front/yellow rear stainless guide rod 4# connector slug plug smoothed finger notch under trigger guard with dremel and a scotch brite pad Mike krankher 07-01-2007, 20:27 Completely stock, but would like to add night sights. Otherwise, I like it as is. the perfesser 07-01-2007, 21:38 The 36 I bought three weeks ago is my first Glock, a used one at that. The previous owner had the extended magazine release installed, and I am uncertain, after two outings with the pistol, whether I will change back to a standard size. The button sticks out further from the frame. As a right-handed shooter, I am not concerned with an inadvertent mag drop because of accidental thumb manipulation, but instead that my holster draw will cause the mag release to disengage the magazine. I believe that the draw from my Fobus has done this once. My question: does anyone have any experience with this (potential?) problem? Blasko 07-02-2007, 06:40 none...good to go the way the factory made it. UpeoWaMacho 07-02-2007, 16:24 Putting a Big Dot on the front, but keeping stock rear. Supposedly, putting the rear XS 24/7 sight on the G36 is a mistake (shoots too low suddenly). Don't know if that's true or not, but hey, putting in just the front sight is cheaper. So, we'll see how it goes. The G36 is strictly my carry gun, and I don't expect to be shooting out more than 10 yards. ipscshooter 07-02-2007, 17:21 Gun came with night sights. The only thing added is decal grip. Pearce +0 for mag in gun. Pearce +1 with Wolff extra power spring for spare mag. Jack23 07-02-2007, 17:40 I like 'em like Gaston makes 'em. Don't wanna change nuttin'! Glockanatorrrrr 07-02-2007, 19:07 Only added a plug to help keep the dirt out. Probably will and night sights. Love this gun!! Ooops! :embarassed: Guess I kinda sorta forgot about the butt plug I put in. But that's all I've done. Swear!! Mr V 07-02-2007, 20:37 Hogue slip on grips and thats it. +1 Pearce on one mag. Carried in a Blade-tech IWB holster My favorite Glock !!!!!! G19Tony 07-02-2007, 22:41 Trijicon sights and Pearce +0 extensions. Plug is a good idea. I have them on my G19 and G26 UBG holster and belt. stash 07-03-2007, 07:59 Hopefully I will pick up my NIB 36 today. I bought it with steel fixed sights. Does anyone know, are these sights put on at the factory or is it an after market thing put on by the gun store? I paid around $25.00 more for the steel sights. I guess maybe the plug will be the only other thing I will get for her. joesglock 07-03-2007, 10:46 I like mine stock....... Although a lasermax might be a nice addition! JCA 07-04-2007, 11:10 I suggest Meprolight if you go with night sights. denfoote 07-04-2007, 18:37 I did the same mods that I do to all my Glocks. Change out the stock sights for Trijicon, replace the stock connector with the minus, install the plug, and install either Agrip or Decal Grips. Blasko 07-06-2007, 05:50 Originally posted by Blasko none...good to go the way the factory made it. Well it looks like I will have to retract my previous statement and have a modification performed. Tuesday night I shoot poorly in my defensive pistol match. I inspected the 36 because it couldn't be me right? I noticed the rear sight is loose and the right side of the mount is bent slightly. I bought mine with the adjustable sight from the factory and now will go to a steel night sight. BTW I don't think the sight was off enough that I can blame the results on the 36...I think I had a bad night. Jack23 07-06-2007, 10:33 Originally posted by Blasko BTW I don't think the sight was off enough that I can blame the results on the 36...I think I had a bad night. I know that's right! I don't know how old you are but that gets a little more true as you age. Sometime I'm dialed in nice and tight and some times I couldn't hit the ground with a rock. vafish 07-09-2007, 12:41 I put a set of XS 24/7 Big Dot sights on it. Nothing more. trozau 07-10-2007, 21:14 100% stock. Tack 07-11-2007, 07:18 They say a picture is worth a thousand words... http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-8/819713/chromebig.jpg Tripp Research Hard Chrome job 3.5# Connector Trijicons Butt Plug Absolutely love it. Wish they would make a full size version of it. Washington,D.C. 07-13-2007, 09:17 Lone Wolf grip sleeve. It really helps it from being slippery. Everything else is stock. bobehud 07-13-2007, 18:26 Heres a quick look:banana:   eringobragh 07-15-2007, 07:08 Glock's steel sights...love the dot in the basket, the dot's bigger on the steel version, and they're very durable compaired to the plastic. Also I have a 3.5lb connector in all six of my Glocks. marcoh 07-17-2007, 19:30 Originally posted by marcoh Bone stock, which is unusual for me because up to now I've always put Meps on my pistols. In the spirit of full disclosure, I ordered a set of Meps for my G36 this morning. Oh, and I have Pearce +1's on all my G36 mags. Glock36/.45acp 07-23-2007, 18:28 Bought used but like new... came with night sights...changed out recoil spring for a new Glock one, didn't want to chance it. Pearce +1's on all mags..no reliability issues with stock springs, fires them all and has integral grip plug to close everything up. I love it I tell ya! UpeoWaMacho 07-23-2007, 20:02 Took the little guy out for a spin on Saturday. The new Big Dots worked like a charm, with both the front and rear sights on! Love this thing! pete1953 08-01-2007, 11:04 I have a set of XS 24/7 Big Dot sights, an exceptionally smooth stock trigger from lots of dry firing, Pearce +0 mag extensions and Wolfe +10% mag springs. In addition, I used a Dremmel tool, file and extra fine sandpaper to undercut and round the edges of the trigger guard. No other changes planned. Jack23 08-02-2007, 20:23 I know I have preached long and hard about the benifits of just leaving your Glock stock. But I found myself making a half-step backwards on that today. I went to the range and took 2 of my Glocks. I took my 17 and my 36. I fired 100 rounds of WWB 115gr from the 17 and 150 rounds of 230gr UMC from the 36. After about 100 rounds from the 36 I began to notice a little "rash" on the trigger finger. It's those dern grooves, I'm a thinkin'. Never happened before (to me) but I've read where others had experienced the same thing. After the next 50 rounds the pain is getting hard to ignore. Fortunately for me my Glock armorer is about 10 minutes away from the range I was shooting at today. I went over to his shop and asked him if he had one of the smooth triggers I have read about in here. 5 minutes later I'm on my way back to the range to try out my new smooth trigger. The finger was pretty sore but even so I could tell a huge difference. I put another 50 through it with the new smoothe trigger and felt justified in this modification in this case. I just refer to this experience as the exception that proves the rule.  But no more mods for me. Swear! ;) Spydermonkey 08-18-2007, 16:02 http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b105/scubie555/G36.jpg Mepro night sights Modded factory extended slide release Modded G17 smooth trigger onto G36 trigger bar Pearce +0 butt plug $0.25 trigger job vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
