First off, congrats to everyone for getting this forum started. There's something about the G36 that keeps drawing me towards buying one and its nice to see that there is a forum dedicated to it.

I'm interested in your thoughts for carrying a G36 versus a G19 or G30. Please enlighten me regarding the G36.

Thanks for your input.

In my opinion, it is all about feel. It is a great, reliable, accurate, concealed carry weapon, like many Glocks are. To me, it is all about feel in hand and feel on hip. Feels perfect to me. You'll either love it or hate it. Also, I carry in a Kramer leather belt holster OWB. Nothing has ever felt so tight in to me.

In another post, jacksplat said, "The G30 grip is like wrapping your fist around a tomato soup can, the G36 is like grabbing a pop tart. Depends on your dietary habits/preferences."

Another issue for some has been capacity. I am cool with 7 and 2 spare mags.

I struggled over 30 and 36. The 36 felt way better in "my" hand.

It's a lot about how it feels and how you like the caliber and capacity and how you carry.

I like the feel of the 36. Fits my hand well. It's thinner than a 19 and 30. Not much compared to the 19 but significant difference for the 30. My preferred carry is IWB. Living in the desert we don't get many opportunities to wear a coat, so IWB works well. I have nothing against a 30 as I have a 21, just fatter than I want to carry IWB.

The 19 is a fine pistol. The good news is many holsters that work for the 36 also work for the 19/23, etc frame. I used my 36 holster to carry my 23 just today (Saved a trip to the safe as the 23 is my house gun).

It's all in the hand of the beholder. I picked up this gun at a gun show and it felt so good. It was a perfect fit. I like the 30 but to me it was a brick. I carry the 36 daily and love to hear people bash it. It makes me smile and think.....Man these people are missing out.

rd4man called it. I think that half of the decision is base on fit/comfort and the other half on confidence in the reliability and dependability. They are both excellent weapons but I chose the 36 for the way it fit my hand and because of the fact that I can shoot it more accurately than any of my other Glocks.

My first Glock, as I chose that one as a primary carry weapon, was the 23. I still cary it on occasaion just for variety but the 36 ia now my primay every day carry. I've never had a handgun that I love more, shoot better, have more fun with, trust so completely.

Should I change my screen name to Jack36?

I have found that the Glock 36 is a very good field gun when I want to travel light. Tucked under a loose shirt its thin profile and light weight make it a pleasure to carry.

The 36 is about the grip, nothing more. If it wasn't, there would be no reason not to get the 30. If you have smaller hands and want a subcompact .45 Glock, the 36 might be for you.

I do feel the 36 offers a different feel in recoil than the 30 does, it seems to be a push rather than snap. I may be wrong, but that is my perception.

Accurate as hell, reliable as hell, cool as hell, easy as hell to conceal.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am going to add the G36 to my "to buy" list along with a G19 or G17.
