This morning I took my new G36 out shooting for the first time. When I left the house at about 7:00 AM it was 80 degrees, and by the time I got home it was 100. Humidity was about 22%. I go shooting out in the desert about 15 miles west of where I live.
The G36 fits my hand as if it were made for it. My G21SF is a little big, my Kimber Ultra CDP II a little small, but the G36 is just right. I have six magazines, two with Pearce +1's. Although I can get a comfortable grip with the stock magazines, I noticed a big enough improvement with the Pearce +1's that I'm going to upgrade the rest of my mags.
I set up a target at about 25 feet, and I tried four Double Tap loads: 165, 185, 200, and 230 gr. JHPs. I also had a small assortment of leftover Hydrashoks, Golden Sabres, and TAPs that I also fired just for comparison with the DT.
The lighter DT loads felt a bit more snappy than the heavier DT loads, but I didn't notice any meaningful difference in accuracy (this, however, probably says more about the shooter than the equipment since I wasn't exactly driving tacks with any load). Also, all the DT loads had appreciably more "oomph!" than the Federal, Hornady, etc.
I experienced no failures of any kind with any load.
Unlike my G21SF and my Kimber Ultra CDP II, I could not feel the torque as the barrel rifling spun up the bullets when I fired the G36. This struck me as odd because the G36 is the lightest of the three, but it may have been due at least in part to how well the G36 fits my hand and the quality of grip I get with it vs. the other two.
One final note: After 100 rounds of Double Tap ammo, I raised a small blister on my trigger finger right where the safety tab sticks out, so heads up.
