Scherer +1 Extentions

When I purchased my g36 it came with two magazines, both had Scherer +1 extentions on them. Right away I noticed with the extentions on I had problems with it feeding. It would fire, extract the spent casing, but the slide would stay back and not feed the next round, I had to rack the slide. While at the range I tore them both off and put the factory base plates on, no problem from then on out. I have been thinking for my spare magazines it may be nice to sport an extra round. Anyone else have this issue with the extentions? Any ideas? Is it the springs in the mags? Maybe they are too weak with the extentions to get the next round up quick enough.

When it does not feed the next round is it in slide lock? or is the next round nose into the feed ramp?

FWIW, I have Pearce +1's on four of my G36 mags, and I've had no feeding problems. I didn't swap out the springs on mine, but I gather that many GT'ers upgrade to Wolff extra power springs when they install +1's.

Like I said in another thread, the G36 is really finicky about timing. Springs have a lot to do with it!!
That's why it's best to leave the gun's internals stock, especally the springs!!
You may try installing the Wolff extra power mag spring and see if that helps!!
FWIW, I never was interested in doing that mod. From all the reports of the hassels people have had with it, I didn't think one extra round was worth it!!
Some work right out of the package, some don't.
