So I got my first EBR, and the last three things I need for it are good optics, a Surefire tactical forgerip light and an instrument case. It is a 16" bbl Stag 2T.

Anyway, I want to get an instument case for it. I figure I can get some semi-rigid foam for the inside and cut places for the weapon, mags, cleaning supplies, maybe even a spotting scope. A guitar case would be overkill, I think, but a Ukulele case would be too small. Any ideas on the smallest case that would be big enough?

Get a Waller Soft Safe. They don't scream GUN and are FAA approved for travel. The FBI had them designed for traveling with long guns. They also float.
I would suggest a regular vertical foregrip, DD or Vltor light mount and whatever Surefire you're using over that mount..... the "trigger finger" light switch is an accident waiting to happen.
Pelican cases. I think they're pretty good.
And we wonder why gun grabbers call us hicks and rednecks.

I am going to get a good case that is designed for the weapon. They have a nice one at my range.
I want an instrument case in addition to that, just for when I feel like being tacticool.

No, actually I don't care. I believe that if we live our lives around idiots, they will simply continue to get more powerful. The neocon rhetoric after 9/11 ran along the lines of "the best way we can defeat terrorists is to keep being free and living like we've always done." My version would be "the best way to defeat idiots is to keep enjoying life and persuing happiness in whatever way suits you." I am not hurting you/them, so you/they can all collectively kiss my Southern white...

I use guitar cases, tennis racket bags, and bat bags, depending on the season. Widely available.

And why should any of us care what a bunch of bed wetting, hand wringering, brainwashed morons think of us? Seriously, why? If they try to take our stuff at least we could settle this issue for good, well at least for the next 100 years or so.

Oh for crying out loud the civil war ended over a hundred years ago. If remembering your ancestor's southern heritage makes a man happy, then so be it. I would be willing to bet there are far more sons of confederates who love and have served this country than there are secular progressives who would spit upon the flag and call those who serve under it murderers.

Nope. Born bred Southerner whose family has southern roots.
