To be more specific ... 5.56mm NATO greentips. I use a Remington 870 for my main home defense use, and the new AR as a backup more than anything. I figure NATO greentips have been shooting people for a while now, and will work until I can get a few boxes of the usual overpriced tacti-cool Hornady TAP rounds we use for a duty load. Menehune 07-10-2007, 23:08 Hahahaha, 75gr TAP in the rifle. I also like the Winchester box that Wally Used to sell. It was a 45 gr varmint round. Has a hollow point to it that almost looks crimped. Its light and pretty much destroys itself on impact. It blows a good hole in coyotes... CW Mock 07-10-2007, 23:14 I found a couple boxes of those Winchester hollowpoints the other day in my "junk" ammo drawer. I used to use them all the time on Coyotes, and they worked great! I remember when I started using those instead of ball rounds. Difference was as plain as night and day. They would probably work all right against two-legged varmints too, and not penetrate too much. Then again ANY bullet on target is better than 30 that missed!
