The M19 is my favorite SW wheelgun. Made for duty and designed for combat duty by Lawman. This is what the boys wanted in there holsters and used for many decades and some still do. In my small rural town the PD boys are about 50-50 auto and SW19,Berretta 92.

My Model 19, pre-red ramp front sight, pinned barrel, countersunk chambers, target trigger & target hammer. Like new condition, but sometimes carried by a detective when he could remember to carry a gun. Strain screw backed out so far, it wouldn't fire but once in a blue moon. PD traded it in and I got it for a C note.

I used it in IDPA shooting full power CorBon .357 loads. They made me shoot last as I would blow the scoring ring centers out of the target.

Sweet revolver.

i paid a little bit much for a beautiful example of the model 19-3.the origonal smooth wooden stocks with medallions has a slight discoloration on one side.a slight wear mark at the muzzel and a smudge on one of the cylinder cutouts but otherwise the blue is to die for.deep, dark almost liquid in appearnce.they sure dont blue guns like this anymore at the factory anyhow.
i paid 450.maby too much but its the model 19 i wanted.

Here's a 19-4 6" I bought on Friday:

It's not a 99% grade gun, but for a shooter I picked it up at a good price.

I previously owned a 19-3 4", but as nice as it looked, I just couldn't get comfortable shooting it. I'm chalking it up to the target stocks it had on it, as they really didn't fit my hands. On a whim I picked up the 19-4 6" at the local shop, and it felt really good - most likely due to the Pachmayer rubber grips. So I again joined the M19 club.

A lightly used 3" or 4" M19 or M66 is on my perpetual wish list.

I've got a 6" 19-5 with partridge front sight, white outline rear, TT, and TH. It was a gift from my wife a couple years ago. :)

My only 4" K frame is a 66-5 and it's double action only.

I paid $250 for a nearly mint 19-3, P&R, nickle finish. It's one of my favorite weapons. It wasn't shot much by it's previous owner.

That looks just like the 4'' mdl 19 I sold a few years ago. That was a great idea...

19-3 4" P&R with about 75% of it's original finish

Paid a little too much at a local pawn shop a little over a year ago, but I REALLY wanted a P&R model 19.

i just picked up an unfired 19-3 and 'paid too much'.. (ha!)..

meaning likely paid HALF what it's REALLY worth.. ;)

DANG that action is glass smooth, for out of the box.

pulled the cocobolo grips (targets) off, and stuck on some cheapos that fit my hand, and i'm happy.

anybody wants a pair of cocobolo goncalo alves target grips, with the speedloader relief.. i got a pair i'll not use.. whatever's fair.

got a pair of pachmayer decelerators as well, would like diamond service grips in medium shape, not too badly ruined, not pristine..

anybody got some 'shooter' grade diamond service grips? :) TWO pair..

19-3 2.5" barrel. Just a few holster spots. I paid $240 for it and it was practically a steal. I bought a Tucker holster with a cherry finish and concho, but I've only worn it a couple of times. It just seems like a crime to risk bringing any harm to that finish. :smoking:

The Model 19 (in all its varieties) is the very best all-round revolver in the history of the world. Have owned about 6-8 over the years; still have 2. I love them.

PS: If anyone has a 66 with a 3" barrel for sale, please PM me. Thanks.

Always on the lookout for another one! Smith & Wesson model 19: everything you ever needed to know about a combat handgun. I had to sell my 4" Modl 19 with the recessed cylinders and all the good goodies. I kept the snubby. I oughta start carryin it, but I'd cry like a 6 year old girl if it got scratched
