Magazine question.....issue?

So, I bought a couple of new USGI mags w/ Magpul followers in them this weekend at the gun show in addition to extra magpul followers for my mags at home.

Anyway, got home, loaded up the two new mags and put 'em in the evil AR. First one, no problems, Second one.....very snug fit entering the mag-well, actually some of the grey scratched off the upper end of the mag on both sides.. Without actually shooting it, it seemed to function just fine. One round fed in, one round extracted. Hit the mag release and it doesn't drop free, but comes out okay with a little pull.

So, obviously I am new to dealings with AR mags - is there going to be a reliability issue - have you guys (or gals) seen or used mags like this? Did I get stuck weith a bad onr or does this sometimes happen and work anyway?

I have been hesitant in purchasing any mags for fear of lemons.....did I find one anyway?

I will obviously use the tested "old" mags that came with my AR for HD until I can break these in.

A fully loaded (all 30) mag will often be very, very snug and not drop free all the time. Some are very snug just going in. My USGI issued magazines are generally fine, but some have swelled a bit, etc over time from use and all that.

It's not a major issue, just something to be aware of.

At my house tight mags get thrown in the trash.
Tell us what brand you have. That will probably explain everything.

If that was the case, about 500 of the estimated 2-3,000 mags in our armory would be trashed, and they work fine.

Just slam it in a little harder, and give it a tug to ensure it seated. Rip it out and presto, you're done.

I've contacted Cproducts by their request and they have asked me to send the mags to them for a free replacement. They stand by their product.

Top notch Company - Gonna buy more from 'em for making it right. Look what PR can do.

Well, I actually only loaded 20 rnds of Remmy in each one.....I noticed the feed lips on this problem mag being further spaced than the other, but still seamingly functioned...(without shooting)....no loose rounds, all held in place well.
