When you think your computer is good to go

So I posted a couple months ago that I was upgrading mobo, ram and video card. Well the wife calls me and says i dont know what happened i was on the computer and it just shut off.

So i get home and i push the button and nothing. Check all plugs, resert PSU and still nothing.

Im thinking its the PSU itself, no beeps no fans no nothing. What do you guys think?

time for an upgrade (it was a crappy psu anyway. maybe just spring for a whole new case while im at it :)

Well it could be the motherboard, too. To check the power supply, unplug it from the board and use a paper clip to jump the green wire to any black wire. If it's fan comes on it's probably the mobo or possibly the switch on the case. If you get nothing then the PSU is deceased.

And buying cases with PSUs is likely a big part of the reason you have crappy PSUs...
