Outdoor Rifle Range (public) in Downers Grove area?

I am looking for an outdoor range in the DG area that I can shoot my AKs at. Any suggestions in the area (less than an hour drive)??? I would consider joining a private range if close by.

The closest place to shoot EBR's is Buffalo Rock Range in Ottawa right down Rt. 71

Never heard of this place but I'm going to be in Ottawa on the 27th (picking up a new gun, actually!). I also have an AR that needs to be broken in.

How is this range? Is it really only 25 bucks plus bring your own ammo? What else do I have to bring--cardboard target backs? Can I tape some paper plates to cardboard and shoot at those like I usually do?

there should be targets down in the range, but it's always fun to bring your own reactive targets. Nothing metal...
