does anyone have a rifle in 6.5Grendel? Thinking mainly for hunting deer and other midsized game. I was going to go with the 7.62x39 but I already hunt with one rifle in that caliber now, thought I might go alittle different way. I saw wolf is making 6.5G. Also saw AA has a 120Ballistic tip load that would be just about perfect in my opinion.
Mainly just wanna see if anyone else has one and how they like it.
I have no experience with it, but have seen some impressive stuff about it. IIRC there is a whole forum dedicated just for that round. I would search for that.

Here's the forum:6.5 Grendel.com (http://www.65grendel.com/)
You might also want to ask around on www.ar15.com
I have a 16" Tactical from Alexander Arms coming in on Wed. If you are interested, you might try Bud's Gunshop in Paris, Ky. They frequently have them but in small quantities (one or two). I paid $818 (Alexander Arms list price on their website is $995). Shipping and full insurance ran it to $872.
Ballistically, with the high ballistic coefficient of 6.5mm slugs, it is a pretty capable little cartridge for defensive purposes and has excellent long range capabilties. It can certainly handle deer sized game very effectively and some on the 65grendel website have quite successfully shot elk.
Wolf Gold ammo is available at Midway for $10.99. High quality Black Hills ammo from Les Baer but only in 100 rd quantities for about $24/20. Wolf is supposedly coming out with some cheap, steel cased plinking ammo late this year. Don

With the Wolf Gold being out now, I might again consider getting a 6.5 upper for my AR.

Now if I could find an eighteen inch barreled gas piston upper for one. I'd be on it like a chicken on a June bug...
