Anyone know of a kit for a Ruger 10/22? A kit that is legal and will allow the gun to fire automatic. Is there such a thing or is it a modification? ;c ;d
There is no such thing as a legal full-auto kit for a Ruger 10/22. Sure, they can be made to be fully-auto, but doing so would be against BATF laws. I'm not sure, but I don't think the 10/22 became available until after 1986, which means that there aren't any legal full-auto 10/22's even available (except for those owned by Class III and Class II dealers).

Ruger 10/22 has been around for several years and some were legally converted to full auto. John Norrell of Norrell Arms I believe did make convertion kits that were preregistered but these probable have been bought up several years ago. The trick these days is to find anyone wanting to part with it or a registered reciever. Writer by the name of Ramos wrote a few books about specific firearms one of which was 10/22 and its many different styles.

The 10/22 has been around since the 60s or 70s. There were several select fire conversions made before the '86 ban. They start around $5000 now for a legal, transferrable conversion.
For that price, I'd buy an American 180. Full-auto .22 with a 220 round drum!

Tok- I love it!! Have you shot one? ;f ;f ;c
Never shot one. If I had enough land to shoot, I'd definitely buy one.
The guys at the range I go to would probably think it was pretty cool... once.
I can just picture everyone hitting the dirt when you start cranking the wheel. Heh.

Full auto .22 would be fun and farily cheap. But I'd prefer a silenced 10/22. Won't piss off the neighbors.

It's not a kit per-say, but for the most part all of your questions on this matter will be summed up nicely.

I have seen 10/22 kits for sale on the machine gun boards. Most of the time, they are installed in a 10/22 since they can be functionally checked by the seller to remove any "tech support" issues from the buyer later. The kit is just a registered full auto trigger pack. Prices were around $3500-$4500. Yea, it's a lotta dough.

What about hell fire? I thought that was legal because You are actualy pulling the trigger each time. Thats the reason the gatling gun kits are legal.

Hellfire, Hellstorm, & Tri-Burst are all a joke when it comes to good clean automatic target shooting. The main objective when firing either semi or fully auto is to hit your target with as much precision as possible. None of those 3 give any sort of control.
GAT (all calibers) and BMF activator(for 22's) can give controlled bursts at near automatic speed and an acceptable amount of control.
Forget Hellfire!!!!
unless marring your trigger gaurd is your objective.
