View Full Version : Springfield GI or Norinco Mil-spec
Ok, I'm thinking about getting a CZ 75. But my wife wants me to trade in one of my guns to get it (she don't want to many guns in the house). Which should I trade in my Springer GI or my Norinco. I really need the advice, thanks in advance.

Id say trade the GI. Norcs are hard to find, god knows Ive tried. Not to mention they are top notch steel. Springer GIs are a dime a dozen. Not to mention when you get rid of the Norc youll end up paying 600$ when you want it back whereas a GI is only $500

dump the GI, as the Norinco is twice the 1911 quality-wise

Neither one, of course; trade in the wife! :animlol:

There isn't any MIM in the Norinco .45 so I would keep it based on that alone and for sure if everything ese was equal between the two.

Yeah but I won't think it would be an even trade for a Maria Sharapova:animlol:
Anyways, thanks for the advice to all you guys. I'll do it tomorrow.

If one has to go, make it the Springer but, are you really going to let your wife make you trade or sell a gun to get a gun?
Tell her she has too many shoes around the house and you think she should get rid of a pair each time she brings home a pair.

Maybe its just me, but something about a communist built 1911 rubs me the wrong way...

It's just you.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
There's no way I would let political philosophy dictate which weapon I wanted. That's one of the things that's wrong with politics.
Can we all say "Chau-Chau Machinegun"?
On the "flip side", if you going to shoot the gun, Springfield has a lifetime warranty and is known for their high quality frames/slides, etc. MIM small parts, that's a different debate.
Which one looks better finished to you? :)
Norinco has "harder" steel! What does that mean? Last longer than a Springfield...really? How is the fit and finish compared to the Springfield? If you have a problem with the Norinco, like barrel fit, etc...who do you go to?
Norinco sold a lot of guns because they were "forged", including small parts, crudely finished IMO, and most of all...cheap!

I'd drop the chink knock off in a heartbeat. I cant believe that a Norinco has "better steel".

WOW .45Super-Man what time is the KLAN meeting. Believe what you want, but the Norinco steel is superb. China has great steel unfortunately the gun is built under practically slave labor conditions. I am a hypocrite though because I knowingly
bought 2 of them that I never should have sold. The Springer can easily be replaced.
