Wilson Mag Well question

I have a WC mag well 188B on my Springfield and want to add VZ grips but the extension is not flush with the frame. It sticks up 1/32 of an inch or so. Can I cut the back of my grips so it will sit perfect on the handle? I would have to notch out a "V" like deal on the back of the grips right? Anyone ever done this?
