I've got a Mossberg 590 Special Purpose that I would like to put chokes in, especially a full choke. Can I do this to a 590? Can I do it and shoot slugs?

Your barrel can be sleeved for a full choke. It was a permanent mod, last I knew. I've heard of threaded extensions being sleeved in that can utilize external chokes, but I have no experience with them.
Most will offer that modified is the tighest constriction compatible with slugs.
A good gunsmith can thread the barrel for choke tubes. Full it to tight for slugs but modified works well, that is what I use.

Pick a good gunsmith and tell them what you want, your project request is an easy one. Slugs will not present a problem with a properly fitted screw in I/C or Cyl choke and are generally fired w/o any problems in Mod choke guns. You’ve got a good ideal in regards to adding flexibility to your 590 SP.
