I bought a Taurus PT1911 weekend before last and then this weekend I added a Springfield GI Champion...

I love this type of addiction...1911's are kinda like milsurp rifles to me...legal crack:banana:
I agree. 1911's are my favorite autos hands down.
Your Springfield looks nice.

Now that you have committed to Mr Browning...go buy a High Power...try to buy just 1! :)
As much as some people talk crap about them, I have found 1911s to be some of the best autos made. I am VERY happy with my Springfield Champion LW Operator as is anyone who shoots it. Accurate, very reliable, light, fits my hand like a glove. What isn't there to like?
BHPs are nice, but there are several things I would have to do to them to make them perfect (change the safety, mod/replace the hammer, remove mag disconnect, etc.). I do plan to get one some day as I like shooting my dad's BHP Practical .40.
Welcome to our world.:hugs:

I love my Browning Hi-Power, but they won't replace the 1911 as my favorite auto.

I tried to not like 1911's as I was a glock guy. So I got a free retnal at the range one day... than I paid for a rental a week later... now i'm buying grips/mags/guide rods/springs for my 1911 weekly. Legal crack indeed. I also love the mil surp rifles (just got a mosin nagant). Would love a 1903 springfield if they weren't so darned expensive : (

You might want to also look at the Charles Daly.
I have 4 High Powers (3 Browning, 1 FN) and now I am contemplating the Daly
I guess I would not be a 1911 purist, I own 2 S&W scandium commanders as my 1911 platforms. (external extractors and all) but after carrying S&W autos at work for well over 15 years they worked and worked well. My Smith 1911's are flawless!!
