View Full Version : TLR light on a SIG?
I was looking into a full size semi auto. The Sig 226 was high on the list until I read that a TLR-1 wont fit on the rail. Is this true? This gun would be for HD and must be able to mount a light. Preferably a TLR-1 since that's what I have already.
Can someone clear this up for me?
The 226 is a good looking gun with a great track record, but if I can't mount my light it's a no go. I'm already having trouble trying to justify that price tag.

Depends on which model you ended up with. Your new Sig would have a Picatinny Rail...
TLR-1 Variants:
1) 69110 Fits Picatinny OR Glock-Style Rails
2) 69111 Fits Picatinny Rails
3) 69112 Fits S&W Rails
If you've got the wrong TLR variant, it looks like they offer a "key" to adapt the the light to Glock and/or Picatinny Rails. Part number 69170 fills that purpose.
Last June, I seriously looked at a SIG SAUER® P229 Equinox™ Very impressive Pistol! But I ended up putting my G21 in that role, and ordered a G17 to be my primary range gun. Still, I do see the appeal. ;)

Thanks Ray, I didn't know there were different versions of the TLR-1. I'll have to see what I have. I was just at the gun shop down the street and handled a few sigs. These are beautiful pistols. But the one I want is $1,000! :alex:
I dont mind spending money on a quality product but I also palmed the G-21sf and that is half the price. Plus it's a platform I'm familiar with. I will have to rent a Sig before I purchase. The DAK trigger feels great.
Hey Ray,
I was just checking out my light. Where do you see those 691- numbers?

My house gun is a P226 in .357SIG. It wears a TLR-1. I don't remember which insert is in it, but it fits just a little bit on the crooked side regardless of what insert I used.
I have had no malfunctions shooting with the light installed, it just doesn't mount as square to the pistol as I'd like. The rails don't seem to fit SL's dovetails too well.
