View Full Version : My Older Eyes love those XS Big Dots

A few weeks ago I asked for some recommendations, since I was having trouble seeing more than a fuzzy blur with typical sights. I got some "thumbs up" for the XS big dots, so I purchased a set. I went to the range this week and I'm happy to say they work great! I got the best groupings I've had in quite a while and even the stray shots were not that far off center. The sights do take a little getting used to (the rear more than the front, for me), but I did a lot of dry firing at home before I hit the range. They're great, and I would HIGHLY recommend them if you're not having success with the typical set-up. I had a FO sight on a different handgun. While I liked it, I found the XS to be easier and faster to acquire the target, and my groupings were better.
Thanks to those that responded to my original question.
I put a set on my 26

These fit in the holsters ok? and is the big dot recommended over the std size.
MY TFO's have gone to crap and now I'm looking for Mepros or the XS.
Also what pusher tool is need the slant or straight?:wavey:
The big dot fits in holsters just fine....they aren't that big
The rear sight needs no pusher...they push in pretty easy by hand, and they are supplied with a plastic punch if needed to tap them into the slide. The rear is held in place with supplied "lock tite", there are set screws to hold it in place while the "glue" dries.
I prefer the BIG dot for this style of sight.

I thought seriously about getting the "normal" sized dot, vs the Big dot, but I'm very glad I didn't. I think getting the standard dot would have killed the overall intent of the sight system. Some people love the standard size, but I'm sticking with Big Dots. Once you get them, you'll realize they are not THAT big - just big enough to be a big asset.
