Is this a good enough flashlight to get?
Love them have to G2's and 1 G 3
Yes, I have 2, it's the best bang for your buck with Surefire. Mine seem to be indestructible (one gets used daily, on and off work).

Don't have a G2 but I have an E2D. We just went through a power outage at work and I had my Surefire with me. My E2D was way brighter than everyones 4 cell Maglight. They are great lights. Purchase one, you will not be dissappointed.

Mine drains the battery just sitting on the shelf unused.
After putting brand new batteries in it I left mine on top of my safe for about a month, and when I picked it up to use it the power was down quite noticably.
I know they're good lights and I'm certainly satisfied with my other Surefire. I think I must've gotten a bad one.
They're definitely a good value. I keep one in the truck along with a loaded SF Spares Carrier. They're tough, bright, and incredibly light-weight. I keep one in my hiking pack, too, for all the same reasons.
I have other SF's I like more for various reasons, but for the value these offer, they certainly have a place.

I just bought an E2d today and love it....
I personally do not care for the G2 very much. It just doesn't feel right in my hands. For a lower-end light of similar size, I much prefer the Streamlight Scorpion.
Not saying it's a poor light, which it certainly isn't, I just cannot seem to get a good grip on it. I'll take the Scorpion, Z2 or 6P over it any day.

One thing that I have learned about SureFire batteries is that they don't fade- they die- quickly. I bought a few boxes from them and they will dim a bit and then just turn off altogether. I gather that this is from the protection circuitry built in.
I have been much happier with www.batterystation.com cr123 cells. They fade out predictably so that you don't get left in the dark, so to speak.
I have made three orders from them, they ship quickly.

F I; thanks for the batterystation tip.
Sundown, are you referring to the incan. G2 or the G2 LED light?
Thanks in advance!
