Has anyone had the trigger lightened on the 640-1? If so, please tell me about it.

Almost...While I own a 640, I had my 642 lightened by changing the mainspring and the rebound slide spring, to aftermarket springs.

The gun's trigger pull was significantly lighter and rounds never failed to ignite.

Now the however...a year or so later and, one day, I noticed the trigger did not reliably return. I cleaned out the gun and replaced my stock springs and never looked back. By now, with multiple revolvers owned, I'm used to the double-action trigger pull(s) and have no problems. A few hundred trigger pulls, if not a thousand, also, either strengthens your finger, &/or breaks in the gun, also, for a bit lighter trigger. Leave it stock.

OK, some people take the rebound slide out and polish it, but that degree of disassembly is beyond my abilities.
