All are good barrels. The key is the fitting.

i agree with bulm5! even if you get the best but the fit is sloppy...

i've tried kart, schuemann, wilson, barsto, para-ordnance, and armscor barrels. magaganda naman lahat performance

Kart would be my choice for 1911's.

Armscor Barrels are ok too. Doesn't hurt your wallet.

My armscor .40 bbl has consistently kicked the lights out of a scheumann AET:animlol: :tongueout:

Just like what Bulm540 said, the key to a barrel performing to one's expectations is fitting. I've seen Bar-Sto .38 Super upper and lower barrel lugs that were sheared because of too long a barrel link. Of my former 1911s, my Norinco was more accurate than my Springfield Armory because the fitting was done right. My gunsmith had to change the original barrel link to a one he made from a leaf spring (he uses old Hino leaf springs to make barrel links and firing pin stops). He also sees to it that the barrel bushing is fitted just right.

I've seen an Armscor single stack .45 that was more accurate than a Para-Ord .45. My gunsmith tuned and fitted the Armscor after the pistol was released by the gunstore to the owner.

Ehem! Even the conical bull barrell (not the medallion series) beats the AET ;)

Sabi sa akin sa Tussey Custom, for some reason Schuemann barrels are really superb in .38 super. but only in that caliber.

In 1911 .45 acp, Bar-sto is tops. That's why it's the preferred barrel for the MEU-SOC 1911.

I have a Beretta 92 Bar-sto and it i s freakishly accurate with some ammo but rather picky. It loves WWB 124 gr.

I have KKMs for my Glock 17 and Glock 22 and while they're better than factory, they're not accuracy freaks like the Bar-stos.

I have Jarvis .40S&W conversion for my Glock 20. It shoots better than the KKM.

I just got a Glock 21 Bar-sto that I haven't tested yet so let's see.

Revo,

Is the Beretta barrel choosy accuracy wise, or does it also affect reliability, or both?

Yes. Made in Australia and popularly used in .38 Supers. Very accurate if fitted well. The only disadvantage is that you have to use shells that have been run on that particular barrel. Run borrowed shells on it, and the gun will jam.

A shooting buddy had that on his .38 Super comped gun in the late 80's.

The Bar-sto beretta barrel seems to like WWB 124 gr a lot. With that ammo, it's an X-ring gun at 25 yards.

I reload 9 mm and while it shoots my reloads better than the factory barrel, it's not as accurate as the WWB above.

Maybe the twist rate.

I use 147 gr bullets in my reloads and try to make minor.

is there a difference between a armscor medallion barrel and ordinary armscor 1911 barrel?

The medallion bull barrel are straight bull and the ordinary is a cone type bull. And i think the bore medallion is chromed.

I have a bone stock Edge and I've been very happy with the barrel...so happy in fact that I'm considering getting the same barrel once I wear it out. For me a half an inch better accuracy is irrelevant. I want a barrel that is forgiving in the ammo that you feed it. Charlies and Deltas don't hurt as much as a jam. :)
Pero I've shot an STi with an AET barrel and I was very impressed.

For the same price then get the more expensive one which is the Barsto.

in my exp. mababa magbasa sa chrono ang sti 40 barrels. against barsto and shueman. you need another .2 grain for n320 to get the same velocity.

but accuracy is great. iirc not made in usa ang sti barrels, parang asean country ata ang gumagawa.

shuemann, barsto ako in that order in 40 cal

I have a Barsto drop in, Wilson drop in and a King match barrel (not sure if King make their own barrel).
I like all of them but the match barrel was a "parusa" to install.

Sweater ano ba talaga plan mo, AR, HK, 1911 o all of the above.

Thanks for the advice guys. You guys have a lot of experience regards to which one work better. Thanks for every informative answers, I really appreciate all the comments.I think we all learn from each of our past experience.Sometimes we have to asked around before we make decisions.Hopefully I dont offend anybody. -----------ess45, i have some parts of AR15 in hand right now.You are lucky you live in Florida, here in NJ even if we want to put something in our projects, we cant, NJ is not gun friendly state like FL.No pics available yet,I will post it when my project is done, like my Caspian 45,and about the HK i have a Tactical 45 and I love it ,I just want to upgrade my collections a notch.Hope you understand.
