Most people reject the G36 claiming it is too light, too thin, kicks too hard, etc.
What modifications, ammo choices, or techniques have you used to tame your G36?

...and your problem is????
I load mine with 230gr Federal Hydroshock with no problems.
The only mods I've made are to install the minus connector, low power trigger spring, and put Trijicon night sights on.
Keep a firm grip on the beastie when you fire it and you'll do fine!!
As you can see, mine does pretty good from 15 yards.

I primarily use light handloads for practice. For carry, I use Hornady TAP 200gr. JHP's and find them very manageable. For those who find it too thin, I suppose you could use a wraparound grip like the Hogue, but that kind of defeats the purpose of choosing the 36. Its light weight and thinness are its best qualities for concealed carry.

how quick were the shots for that group
just trying to get a grasp of shooting style in my plans of a dark sinister black G36 (more fun to say then shinny new)
I don't think the 36 retail is bad at all. The only thing I've done is dropped in a NY1 trigger spring for carry.

Most people?????
Only modification from STOCK = Decal Grip
Ammo = most anything for practice...Carry = Federal Personal Defense.
Techniques = Practice shooting.

Doesn't really need taming! People just need to practice with it and get used to the feel. I practice with anything I can get that's reasonably priced (not wolf). I carry Fed HS 230's.

Just have a firm grip like with all other GLOCKs.

My wife who had only shot my full size 9mm until I bought this said after shooting it; "I thought this would be alot worse than the Taurus. No big deal." Now my father-in-laws snubby .357 is a beast!

I'd say about one per second.
Not fast double tap, but not slow fire either.

I use a Lone Wolf slip-on rubber grip sleeve. For carry ammo I like 230 grain Remington Golden Sabers. They are a standard pressure load that feeds well and doesn't lose much velocity from the G36 barrel.

No taming here. Just shooting. It works great for me.
I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of recoil on the G36...

Run 100 rounds of 230 +P Federal HST's thru the 36. Then the standard preasure 230's will seem mild. I just kept mine stock. Keep a firm grip and mostly shoot Double Tap or Blazer 230 ball.

To Thin? Glock should be making more single-stack pistols, but their bread & butter is Police & Military! Personally d/n consider it "light" with its magazine full?
If someone knows how to shoot it's a lot easier to run "Quick, Aimed Pairs" with it than say, an Officer's Model, IMO.....
Can run Ranger T-Series +P thru it "all-day" and keep it printing accurately but prefer to use & carry the std. T-Series as it's more tractable in any 1911, plus pairs will be quicker and probably better when the chips are down, adrenaline is HIGH and the hits count the most.
I had a friend in high school who dropped his girlfriend because every time she kissed him she stuck her tongue in his mouth. Some people don't know when they have it good.

Pearce +0 grip extensions, 3.5 connector and plenty of practice. the +0 grip extensions did make a huge difference and allowed me to practice more.

Shoot the snot out of it. The more ball ammo you shoot, the easier it gets to control it. I came to the G36 after shooting the 1911 and 357 mag for years, so it really wasn't that big a deal. Maybe several sessions shooting a 357 from a 4" barrel will help with learning recoil /blast 'tolerance' ( for lack of a better word).
Get your hands on a 44 magnum. Feed it hollowpoints. Shoot a couple of cylinders. After marveling at the accuracy of the 44 mag, shoot the Glock 36 and be sure to comment on how much less recoil it has than the 44 mag. ( ditto the poster that suggested shooting a weapon with more recoil, first. ) I liked that one. With my arthritis, it is hard to keep up the practice on the Anaconda. The G36 just seems to fit my hand better that any other Glock. I can really get a good grip, which definately helps. No real need to strangle it, though. Take care and keep shooting.
denfoote: Nice pic, thanks. Were some of those double-taps? No disrespect, at all on the group, but as was previously pondered; we need to know how fast you shot that group and if it was off-handed or shot from a bench rest, etc...unless I missed that, in which case, I apologize in advance. It almost looks like what I would end up with if I was shooting some offhand singles and then a couple of quick ones. Love the cloverleafs and big jagged holes.
Pearce +0 mag base plate, Wolff guide rod and 21# recoil spring. Mine runs like a champ. The extra power recoil spring tones down the recoil quite a bit.

Try a small, cut piece of bicycle innertube around the grip. You ll be surprised at the difference I think, I was.
