Glock 22 Sight Problem

I've had Meprolight fixed night sights on all the Glocks I've owned over the years. I currently have the 17, 22, and 23. With the exception of the 22 (a recent acquisition, factory rebuild), all Glocks have shot point of aim at 15 yards. The G22 shoots a nice group but 1.5" to 2.0" low. I can't remove enough metal from the front sight to make much difference in the POA. Any ideas?

Does this gun have meprolights on it, or stock sights?

Stock rear sights are available in several different heights.

are you removing the sight and removing metal from the bottom? Also are you sure they are the proper sights?

I've not removed any metal from the front sight. It is a standard, screw-on Meprolight front sight. I don't think there is enough possible, removable, metal on top or bottom to make much of a difference.

I have the same sights on my G23 and it shoots POA.

Bench the gun to eliminate you. Trigger ? Grip?

Shooting from a bench rest is an idea. I didn't consider it because I shoot all my other Glocks fine including the G23.

If need be, change the rear. I don't know if Mepps offers them separately (I've not seen them if they do) but the Mepps front will be just fine with an Ameriglo (or similar) rear. I'd think the +1 (6.9MM) should be about right.

The rear sights come in different heights, both the factory plastic (not the adjustable), and Mepro or Trijicon. There should be hash marks on the side or top identifying the height. Based on what's there you should be able to change elevation by sliding another rear sight into the dovetail.

Sight height calculator at http://www.ameriglo.com/ says you need to change sight height by .025" (1 1/2" low) to .033" (2" low). Since you are shooting low you need to lower the front or raise the rear (or both) by that amount.

My Meprolight rear sight measures exactly 5mm from the top of the slide to the top of the sight. It measures about 6.5mm from the base to the top of the sight - which would make it a standard Mep sight for a G22.

.025" = .64mm
.033" = .84mm

So, I need at least a 7mm sight?

The front sight is 4mm.

The Meprolight website wasn't much help. Looks like the only option for a Mep is a 6.5mm or the pricy adjustable. Isn't the 6.9mm Mep for the 10mm and .45? Hmmm - I bet the dovetail is the same on both frames. I don't know, I'm getting confused.
