i have a problem getting a good sight picture with a black on black front and hind sight on my HK. what can you suggest that i buy to replace my front sight? should i buy a set of trijicon night sights? or can i just put something on the front sight like a luminous dot or something so i can easily see it?
I was having the same problem and I installed a fiber optic front sight. I am very satisfied with it.

where can i get this fiber optic front sight?
I got mine from novaksights.com. It is the sight that HK puts on the Combat Competition model. It was around $40.00.

thanks man. i will go check it out and order it online.
Before you do try an MMC tritium front sight.
You can order them from http://www.brownells.com
I have an MMC front tritium and a Meprolight adjustable rear on my .45 Elite and like the combination much better than the factory sight set.

Ahh, it's ok,,,,,,
The pistol is more accurate right out of the box than custom 1911 pistols I have built and worked over for hours.
I hate H&K sometimes!

Threaded barrels are much cooler though ;) As far as sights go I find mine to be a little dark at times too. Perhaps I need to look into some others...

I was going to put Trij on my USP Expert, but my gunsmith suggested I go with MeproLights on this particular gun. Turned out that Mep made a set just for the Expert (Trij were fixed sights) that were both tritium and adjustable. I've had the Meps for over a year now, and I am very happy with them.
Did any of you guys install these sights on your own, with or without the HK sight pusher, or an aftermarket pusher, or brass dowel or how? Tips??
Try Heinie night sights, they make a pair for your HK model.
