View Full Version : Cominolli Manual Safety: what give it resistance?
What gives the thumb safety its resistance from moving up or down--is it the small detent on the safety rubbing against the frame?
Anyone who has one--does it wear a grove in the frame and can it wear the frame to a point where the resistance is lessoned to the point that the frame might have to be replaced?
Would have done a search, but search engine appears to be down...
It has a small oval shaped spring washer on the inside that gives it a distinct on and off feel the small detant on the outside is intended to minimize wear and tear on the frame where it contacts.

The dimple rubbing on the frame does provide some of the resistance. The rest is due to a detent system inside the trigger group. On mine, I have removed the dimple that rubs on the frame, to save the scarring of the frame, and inconsistent feel, and the safety still has a positive detent.
If you like, you can check out my website for some Cominolli installation pictures and notes. http://www.parmarng.org/freeidaho/default.html. On the second screen, find the link for the Glock Manual Safety.
