Thanks DonW. pupcuss27 08-08-2007, 21:22 Got a mad Indian after you? Or is it a case of feeling ya got Indians hiding in the bushes... Not real sure about to wands or metal sweeps. If it's a must to have, ask a LEO I'm sure they will be there. MakeMineaP99 08-08-2007, 21:24 Originally posted by pupcuss27 Got a mad Indian after you? How about it's his Constitutional right? Don't have an answer for you Don, hopefully someone does. IPDBrad 08-08-2007, 21:44 Carry your gat!! No Wands, no pat downs (that is just wrong in my opinion), haven't noticed any signage. They do check purses and bags, looking for carry in booze. Do carry concealed, otherwise you will probably be asked to leave. Edited to clarify: Ref: pat downs, when I say wrong, I mean wrong that they are done at sporting events. I find it offensive. pupcuss27 08-08-2007, 21:56 Originally posted by MakeMineaP99 How about it's his Constitutional right? Don't have an answer for you Don, hopefully someone does. Sure it's his "Constitutional Right"... Just attempting to bring a thimble full of humor to our site with my above statements. PS: LEO is for Law Enforcement Officer never be afraid to speak to a cop with an honest concern. Z34Lee 08-08-2007, 22:32 I went to an Indians game a week or so ago. You're good to go. Pretty much the same for Pacers games too, but I'd suggest ankle carry there if possible. I think I got wanded at Colts games. Security is a joke, meant to make the masses feel good. It is nice to have an idea of what to expect before you make the long walk from your car though, so good question. I should have caught the sarcasm, no offense meant. The only cavet about asking a LEO for legal advice is they are not all knowing, including firearms. rhino465 08-10-2007, 15:45 Originally posted by IPDBrad Edited to clarify: Ref: pat downs, when I say wrong, I mean wrong that they are done at sporting events. I find it offensive. I'm curious how that even happens. I've never been somewhere where "security" (whether off duty cops in their uniforms or other) are doing pat-downs of people as they try to enter. Do they just put their hands on you as you try to enter, or do they warn you first? Or ask politely? It seems like an assault to me. IPDBrad 08-11-2007, 02:29 Other than hearing about then at airports and in the news I haven't seen them. For some reason I recall someone saying they have done them at Colts games (right after the start of the Iraq War?) skydelta34 08-11-2007, 06:43 My experience is that they do a quick pat down at colts games (run hands down sides and a quick brush around belt line), they also like to look in hats. At conseco, they have wands at the line but they pick and choose who they wand. The may give a quick pat to your front pockets. rhino465 08-11-2007, 09:28 How do they attempt to justify laying their hands on you? It's not like they are law enforcement officer operating within the scope of their duties (even if they are cops in their real jobs). blackbeast 08-11-2007, 10:22 Originally posted by skydelta34 My experience is that they do a quick pat down at colts games (run hands down sides and a quick brush around belt line), they also like to look in hats. X2 seems pointless, but that's what they do. BTW went to a concert at white river last weekend. No checks whatsoever, just made me take the top off of my water bottle. R. I would venture to guess that when you buy a ticket that part of the "license" gives them the right to search you. I was laughing about the "Missle Like Objects". Darn, had to take the RPG back to the car.:tongueout: HoosierShooter 08-13-2007, 11:29 Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was a violation to carry at an event of 5,000 persons or more. Am I wrong on that? Okay ... I have to know ... where in the world did this come from? It's clearly a manifestation of Kirk's First Law of the Internet: "If it's the Law in Texas, it must be the law everywhere," but I don't know which state or states might have such a law. R. I could be wrong but I believe Michigan has such a law. R. Emmelman 08-13-2007, 18:06 Originally posted by minuteman32 Boy, I'm glad I don't carry weapons! I just carry guns & knives :tongueout: . I will admit, I have NEVER been in the dome or the field house. Probably never will.... MakeMineaP99 08-13-2007, 20:26 MI an entertainment facility with a seating capacity of 2500 (either expressed or implied). Or any Sports Statium/Arena. skydelta34 08-13-2007, 22:48 Went to Victory Field tonight without a problem. Only taking tickets and looking in bags. No I thought I had read it in the IN code, but apparently I didn't. I must have gotten it confused with some other reading. I'm glad to know that it incorrect.
