View Full Version : Streamlight rail adapter for 870P
Has anyone ever used the Streamlight rail adapter for a Remmy 870P? I don't have a camera so bear w/ me. It is metal and has a round part that is suppose to slip on the magazine end cap threads. A small rail hangs on the bottom allowing attachment of a light such as a TRL-1 or M3. I bought one and it doesn't fit over the magazine tube.I wanted to know if anybody else has had this problem. I could always take a dremel to the adapter to make it fit.
44 views and none of you shotgun warriors have a reply for me. Surely someone has used this product before. Is this a common problem w/ this light adapter?
Have one on my 11-87. Slips on fine as is. Cheap so dremel away if needed.
Not a warrior.
I've used two of them on two different shotguns and never had a problem with them. This may be a stupid question but you are taking the mag cap off and then putting the adapter on the tube and screwing the mag cap back on correct?
Thanks for the replies. Yes, I am taking off the mag cap. The adapter does not even slip over the threads on the mag cap. It looks like it was machined incorrectly. I will call streamlight up and see if they will exchange it for me. If not, I will be breaking out the dremel.

Take it to a machine shop and have them drill it out for you. It will only take a few minutes with a drill press to set up and complete the job and it will be a much better job than with a dremel and save you a lot of time. The best thing to do is take the SG with you but not inside. Tell them what you need and let them know that the SG is unloaded in the trunk if they want to measure the diameter of the tube so that they know how much metal to remove. This is a simple job and should only cost a few bucks. If I was asked to do it I would for $10 just to cover my lunch that day.
Thanks "anubis" I have a buddy that owns a machine shop. He actually just installed a set of scattergun ghostring sights on my remmy and it came out nice. He soldered the frt. sight on the barrel instead of using the supplied epoxy. He told me that the frt. sight would eventually come off if epoxied. Just got a Streamlight TLR1 and wanted to use it on my shotty.
I have the Streamlight mount for the 870. It fit fine on my 870 Express I keep in the house, but would not fit on my 870 Police work gun---go figure. Ordered another for the 870P and that one worked fine. I didn't have to break out the Dremel, but would have if the 2nd one I purchased did not work.
