Ok, as stated in the first thread; new to Kahr and pretty new to pistols in general but here is my first range report.

After an interminable delay, I was finally able to try out my new pistol.

First 100 rounds loaded all magazine one round short, Independence 115 FMJ, (Federals’ cheap ammo I think), absolutely no problems, every shot “bang’, every shot ejected, slide stayed open after last round.

Note: had the original flush six round magazine and the extended seven round magazine, and another used factory Kahr seven rounder.

Second 100 rounds loaded all magazines full, exact same results, perfect.

Next 50 rounds loaded all magazines full +1, perfect till next to the last magazine, flush six round one, first round out of the magazine click - tap rack and roll, apparently no round loaded, pull trigger after TRR and bang, load last seven round magazine perfect.

Last 14 rounds, Spear Gold Dot 124 +P, flush six round +1, fired fine, slide fails to stay open after last round. Seven round magazine, fired fine, slide fails to stay open.

By the end the pistol was noticeably dirty, and warm. Also by then me and my hands were a bit warn out as well.

I do not remember the specifics but I do remember reading about this problem on the board when doing my research. Need you’re all’s expertise.

I had hoped to give a 100% perfect report and up to about round 237 it would have been.

A bit of a postscript; as stated I am new to this so I still need a good deal of practice to just become proficient let alone good, but I would guess that (mostly 25 feet) at least 90% would have been COM. A few times I broke the rules, I was alone at the range, and fired once at about ten feet and a couple of times at about 15 feet and the groups did tighten up, I pretty consistently was hitting to the right and often low but I broke out the sand bags even though I really do not know how to shoot pistols off a bag and the shots were dead on although strung out vertically. Bottom line I am pretty confident that a good shooter would find the gun quite accurate.

Last note I cleaned up the pistol as best that I could figure out how and lubed, (thanks GT Kahr I know how to lube) but how often do you need to disassemble the magazines and clean them?

I hope that this is helpful and at least reasonable as to form and function; and I would appreciate any advice. Thanks and sorry that the post is a bit long.

rlwood29....long? I'll give you long and I hope this helps at least if nothing technically, then with the frustration level I know from experience you are dealing with.

I have PM9 VC73XX. Purchased around the first of the year or thereabouts.

During "break-in", I documented every mag and every round since it seemed (from reading various experiences) that there was a chance that the one I purchased may or may not be one of the 100 percenters. (That's the way it turned out).

In addition to the items you are experiencing, I had the failure to go to battery on release, another fairly well documented issue.
I am going to cut to the chase, the more rounds I put through it the worse it got, failure to feed and and occasional failure to eject.

At about round 400 (4th or 5th time to the range with thorough cleaning and lubing between trips) with these intermittent issues, and a subsequent box of 50 Remington UMC FMJ (it actually usually ate ball ammo well and seemingly was a fussy JHP eater), 50% of the rounds had primer strikes way off to the side and the gun wouldn't discharge.

At that point I sent all my documentation to Kahr, who then authorized the return. The turnaround was good, less than two weeks. Communications was professional, courteous and timely. High marks there.

Since then unfortunately I have only had time to put 50 rounds of FMJ through it and those 50 were flawless and everything worked as it should.

Here is the description of what was done in the repair process:

"Action Taken: Replaced barrel, recoil spring, polished extractor, striker, tested ok."

******************************************************************

Postscript. Apparently anything made by man can break.

To put things in perspective. I too was (and am still) new to the handgun gig. The only pistol I had prior to the Kahr was a BT 380 and with 700 rounds of everything and anything .380 through it, it has been flawless. It's about a year old now and we took it out recently and put 100 through it and it's like a Timex. It's a $250 piece and works like the Kahr should. Soapbox ended.

Frustration redemption, I thought.

I wanted something to carry while the Kahr was in the shop. I researched other pocket carry guns and visited the 642 Club site on The High Road. Convinced a J frame revolver was the panacea, I bought a new S&W 642-2. A revolver, reliable, simple, and should be good forever right (tongue in cheek)??

Wrong.

Seventy-five rounds into it and a bunch of dry firing (ok according to S&W on Centennials) it broke and had to be sent back to have the sear replaced. So much for revolvers being the end all in infallability.
That incident has made me more patient and willing to work with the PM9 to the point where it should and could be, since I like the form, fit and hopefully someday the function. For now.

Time will tell.

Good luck. You will most likely have to send it in and have it looked at. Seems these things are 100% or not until they are.
Wish Kahr would pay the shipping both ways like S&W when it is a new gun and highly likely a warranty issue.

Since then I have purchased another S&W J frame, a M&P 340, with Crimson Trace 405s which I really like.

I hope to get to the range later this week to put another 50 or better through the PM9.

Dennis
