I have owned the 638 and the 642, but I am learning that a hammer is more and more of an asset when shooting, the more I shoot revolvers with hammers. Do any members on board here at GT carry a 637? I can get these easily at the shop where I help out, I just wanted to see if there were any good stories surrounding this little snub.

I recently traded for a 637 for my wife. It came with Crimson Trace lasergrips. The combination of the laser and the single-action is a confidence booster for her at the range.

Personally, I only practice DA shooting, as that is how it will be used in self-defense. I carry a 642 Centennial as my off-duty and back-up gun.

That's a heck of a trade. Who got the better end of that deal?
I use to work with a several guys on my shift who carried 37s and 637s in ankle rigs as their backups. A couple later bobbed their hammers. Nothing at all wrong with the 637 if you want a hammer.
