Oh yeah, can I dry fire my USP compact? It doesn't say either way in the manual.

Yes. Search all the threads about dry firing. It's no problem.

Hi
Just thought I'd pass along what my gunsmith told me when I asked him about dry-firing my USP
He said a dry fire here or there isn't going to hurt anything ( HKs are well made)...BUT
If you are going to repeatedly practice by dry-firing then invest in some Snap-Caps...get them at any gun shop ...Cabelas..Bass Pro...etc.
These will prevent the firing pin from over-travel ( where pin would normally strike the bullet...theres nothing there and it over-travels) Repeatedly could cause a problem
Snap-Caps look like a plastic bullet...they don't shoot at all or make any weird noise. There spring loaded where the pin hits them and protect your pin from that pesky over-travel thing.
Hope that helps
Mick
