After handling a Benelli Super Nova pump (http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/specialpurpose.tpl) I'm seriously considering picking one up but have a few questions about it first.
1) Who sells factory magazine extensions for it?
2) The website says 2-3/4", 3" & 3-1/2" shells. In your experience, does it fire all of them reliably?
3) How would you rate Benelli's customer service?
Any information/input owners have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Are there no 870Ps to be found?

I had a Benelli Nova at one time, and I found it sort of like Glocks. Uglier than sin, but just as reliable and easy to shoot as a person could ask for. I had mine in a more or less stock SD configuration (sling, side saddle and a short barrel) so I usually only shot 2 3/4 out of it. However, the times I did try some "sport" shooting with the gun, it fed, shot and ejected everything I put into it.

Hey RyanSBHF:
I have a Benelli Nova Tactical. Although there aren't as many accessories as common for the Benelli, I have found it to be more than reliable. I have shot a little of everything thru it, including bidshot, buckshot, and slugs in various 2 3/4 and 3 1/2 shells without any problems.
The nice part of having a Benelli Nova Tactical is the recoil reducer, which is a must in my opinion. The Benelli Super Nova, due to stock design, won't accept the recoil reducer. However, the Super Nova has a side sling attachment for tactical slings like a Vickers or Wilderness. It's a trade off between models.
Both have the same shell capacity. Benelli magazine extensions are no longer available due to BATF import laws. However, companies like TacStar and One Click Shooting Supplies produce magazine extensions that are compatable.
Can't help with the customer service, as I've never had to call them. I know my local gunshop deals with them, so I figure they have at least decent customer service as B&H dropped Colt and HK due to poor customer service. Benelli also has an active user forum, which has answers to tons of Benelli related questions.
Hope this helps. I plan on writing a little function report of the Benelli Nova after taking Randy Cain's Shotgun class at the beginning of October.
Take care....Thomas

I had a Nova SP (Tactical) ghost ringed.
Shot everything fine, functioned well. Fairly low recoil. Trigger could be improved but worked well enough, just long.
Not having aspirations to shoot down geese, satellites, ICBMs or aircraft, I never fired 3.5" rounds, 2 3/4" only and generally low-recoil Hornady TAP (insanely good groups).
Unless you're hunting or shooting through a car at a car bomber etc, magnum rounds are a waste.
