Tussey's Back

Just read the Gun World Sept. 2007 issue, and one article was the comeback of Terry Tussey. He was paralyzed in a freak mountain bike accident in 2005.

He's now working with the help of his apprentice, John Indell. The gun that was featured was a 9x23 1911 cary gun which was superbly done (and very accurate).

Glad to know he's back. I like his custom Officer's 1911s.

Just saw the old man and John, of course, at the last Reno Gun show. I dropped off a 1911 slide that I wanted to have a Novak-style front style installed. I typically drop off some pistol work for John at every Reno show.

Both of them told me that they just came back from a vacation at Steven Seagal's big 7,000 acre ranch in Siskiyou, CA. John said they were invited to clean six of Mr Seagal's guns but spent a lot of time fishing and enjoying his hospitality.

We chatted a little about Rock Island Armory pistols (made in Phils). John said that he just bought his second GI model. The first one he got for his son. John seemed to have a very high opinion of RIA pistols.
