The "Slide" version allows you to use one holster for similar guns of different lengths (such as Glock 9mm, .40, and .357's). A "Full-Coverage" version can be ordered by selecting your specific gun model.

Which is better and why?

I prefer the closed bottom because there is a slight chance you could sit down and catch an armrest the wrong way through your pants on the muzzle of the gun and pop it out of the holster. If you get the closed bottom holster for the longest slide glock you plan to carry, the glocks with a shorter slide should still fit in it.

I prefer the slide on my CTAC. It can hold just about any Glock. If I put a G26 in it, I don't need all the extra plastic that a full G17 holster would have.

Just my personal preference.

I prefer the closed end on the CTACT bc of its smoother bottom. On an MTAC id get the slide though

Which is better and why? I just buy G20 holsters and then use them either for my G20 or my G29. For IWB, the barrel length is not hard to conceal, and the extra length doesn't matter IWB for differences in this range. The G29 is more concealable IWB simply because of the shorter grip.

I bought the slide for my 21SF and love it. I am surprised at the comfort with this full size gun, even in the 3 o'clock position. Nice holster indeed.

Hello

I was going to pick up a m-tac for my 21sf also glad to hear it works well. But I was wondering will the glock 30 with the glock rail fit in the same one?

Can anyone else please comment on the full vs the slide MTAC? I'm trying to make my mind up and order. I have a G17/G19/G26 and was hoping to cover at least two (all would be nice) of those bases..

Good post. I've been looking at the Mtac. I didn't realize that was an option. Nice to know though. I'm getting the slide. Thanks!

Go with the slide, it only makes since seeing as you will have 3 options for carry if you do. Technically you should be able to use the 17 model for all 3 but you'll that extra material there no matter what.

My slide model works very well with both my 26 and 19.

Go MTAC and .40, 357, 9 model and you'll be set.

Hi All,

I've been interested in getting this MTAC Holster because of all the positive comments from fellow glock talkers.

I have a G26 and a G19 and if I get a Slide Version of this holster I should be able to fit my G19 and G26? I just want to make sure I understand this correctly before I order the holster. So I don't have to order another kydex body for my G26 if I get the Slide Version?

Thanks all!

Order the slide - it will fit your 19 and 26

I just ordered the slide for my 19 and 26 on Friday!!

I have several Comp-Tac slides - they work great for both my 19 and 26 (and 17 when I owned one)

Will the 19 version still work with 26?

Slides are great for saving money by not buying multiple holsters. Just keep in mind that if you use a slide at the range (which you should, if that's how you normally carry - train like you fight), that there is no layer of kydex to protect your thigh when you reholster a hot weapon.

I'm can't speak for the other models but the 40, 357, 9 slide model from MTAC has enough leather below the kydex body to cover the 19 (the 26 barely peaks out the bottom of the body) from the thigh. I don't have a 17 so maybe someone can speak to that.

Well, after reading all the positive reviews on the MTAC I just placed an order for one from CTAC. I need a tuckable holster for slacks and button down or tucked polo shirts and this looks like a nice deal, especially for only $70.00 intro price. I ordered the 9/357/40 slide for the 19 and 27.

What is you guys experience on shipping times ?

I have a slide for a G21 and at least once a day I sit so it un seats the gun. I doubt you will have a problem if a 19 or 23 is the largest gun you will carry but if you plan on carrying a 17 sized gun or larger you may want to get the non slide.

Ok guys I did it!

I ordered a MTAC Slide version for my G19 and G26 this afternoon. I got an email saying it will take 2-3 weeks for delivery. I am very excited about this holster.

Will post pics when it arrives.

If not sooner... the two holsters I've ordered from them arrived in under a week.

Me email says "total production and processing time is about 7 business days." I'm assuming that means I'm about two weeks out with delivery which is OK if it's a good holster.

I'll report after it arrives.

I just received my MTAC slide for my G39 and G38. It is going to work perfectly! I am excited!!

I personally like the covered version. I have sat down and the gun has hit things. I don't think there was enough pressure to push it out that time. But I like the added security of it. Either version will work. Just be a bit more cautious with the slide version. Chances are you'll never have a problem.

It seems that the slide version has a disadvantage.

I have a first generation cross-breed and one of the first reviews on his site. It is a well made and thought out holster. The only reason it is not my primary rig at this time for my 1911 is the exposed muzzle. While the design lends it to any length barrel the exposed muzzle/site wore a hole right through two pairs of jeans and a pair of dockers. The hole was inside the right rear pocket, where the fabric constantly rubbed ont he exposed metal.

Other than that I think it is a great rig.
