Anyone here from the Free State or the Show-Me State? I have a Colorado carry permit and am going through Kansas and Missouri over the weekend. I'm 90% sure they will both honor my permit, but I've seen conflicting stuff online, particularly for Kansas.
Can anyone direct me to a link or give me something conclusive, please?

...Just got the call back from the Attorney General's office in KS and found what I needed in MO. I'm good in both.
...won't let me delete thread. Sorry.

No need to delete Z-man, it's a good thread. Kansas is a relatively new state for CCW, and a lot of people wouldn't have known. I live on the MO side of the Kansas City Metro, and I wouldn't have known.

So see you're educating folks!

As for MO, I could have answered. But what I find interesting (and off topic sorry) is that effective yesterday Missouri did away with the state aplication to purchase a handgun. Now NICS is all that is required, as it is in KS already.

the state of missouri will recognize permits from anywhere, anyplace, anytime, no matter how they were acquired, from a cracker jack box, they honour them. j/k

otoh, kansas will recognize many as well but just to be on the safe side, make sure you have other valid ID (like a DL) issued from the same state as your permit. that way you make sure you are not violating ks law by trying to use a non-resident gun permit.

According to both AG sites, yes KS and MO have reciprocity with MN.

Where are you from man? I live in Overland Park right now. I am originally from independence.

Kansas went from zero to sixty pretty danged quick regarding CC laws. We went from nothing to having fairly unrestrictive CC laws. You'll be OK in Kansas. No req to show CCL if in contact with LEO unless asked. I would out of a good faith gesture anyway though.

If you stop somewhere in Kansas, look for the gun buster signs. Don't carry in those places showing the gunbuster sign and you'll be OK.

Good luck !

BE very careful,In KS do not carry into a business that is posted no concealed carry..It could wind you up in the "cross bar hotel"..
MO,, if you are spotted in a no CCW business, all they can do is ask you to leave..Big difference....

.Link to all information on the KS CCH: (http://www.ksag.org/content/page/id/90)

Here's a list of the staes that KS currently recognizes:

Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado,
Florida, Hawaii, Kentucky, Louisiana,
Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska,
Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina,
Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee,
Texas, West Virginia.

There are some states that aren't recognized by KS due to training requirements and some due to under 21 CHL issues. At one time the bill had any CHL, but that was out before the final draft

Gov. Sebelius didn't want to pass the CC laws. She vetoed them. She was overridden twice to get where we are at now.

Thanks for all the help, guys. The trip went off without a hitch. I saw one of those "gun free zone" signs at a McDonalds, but it was a Beretta 92 with a circle and line through it. I was carrying a Glock 30, so I didn't think it applied to me.
Joke.
Thanks again for all the info.

Two sites that will help you with Missouri;

http://ago.mo.gov/Concealed-Weapons/Concealed-Carry-Reciprocity-Missouri.htm and, http://www.mshp.dps.mo.gov/MSHPWeb/Publications/Brochures/SHP-863.pdf

As has been said, we honor ALL permits and although we have a bunch of places you are not supposed to carry (see the Missouri Highway Patrol pdf above), a violation is equivalent to a traffic citation with a $100.00 fine for the first offense. One of the big mistakes that visitors can make is the St Louis Arch. Great tourist attraction but please keep in mind it is a federal park and federal penalties apply ... mot Missouri's.

They kicked my brother out of the arch last year for having an assisted opening knife. The dumb thing was, i had my leatherman, and they didn't care about it because its not assisted.

I was headed West on I-70, stopped for a burger just before Hays, KS.

Even though I can carry in those places i still will not frequent them. It is a magnet for criminals. Just ask the Zales store here.
